This is the second letter being sent to you regarding the upcoming meeting where four (4) directors will be elected who will have primary responsibility for assisting the IAWA/IKWF Board in developing and executing programs for Freestyle and Greco-Roman.
The meeting will be held October 29, 2000 at the Robert Davidson Center, 14700 Park Lane, Orland Park, IL. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00AM, with registration of meeting attendees beginning at 9:30AM. Please contact IAWA/IKWF Administrator Mike Urwin for directions and information on registering your club, he can be contacted at 708-478-4593. Any club that was not USAW sanctioned in 2000 must sanction for 2001 in order to have voting privileges. Clubs must be registered by October 20th. Beginning at 10:00AM on the 29th, clubs will meet by sections followed by the casting of votes by the section directors.
After the elections are concluded, a brief FS/GR event scheduling meeting will be conducted in order to begin establishing the 2001 FS/GR schedule of events. Those interested in hosting a sanctioned FS/GR event for 2001 should come prepared with dates, locations and the age groups your event will included. In addition, those interested in hosting a FS/GR State Championship event or National Team Qualifying event are requested to present an "intent to host" to the Board. If you cannot attend the meeting but wish to sanction and host any FS/GR event please contact Mike Urwin so that he can bring that information to the meeting. The newly formed IAWA/IKWF Board will then meet after the scheduling meeting to address issues for the upcoming Folkstyle and FS/GR seasons. The Board will be composed of the current eight Section Directors, three Vice-Presidents (two current, one to be elected), the President and the three new Division Directors. Other necessary directors will be appointed by the IAWA/IKWF Board.
As stated earlier, all voting for the appropriate positions will be conducted though sections. Club Directors are encouraged to contact their Section Director to cast their vote for the nominees or attend the meeting of your section on the 29th in Orland Park. Maps are again enclosed for Section determination.
